What is METABOLISM?

METABOLISM

Metabolism is the body’s process for turning food into usable energy and supporting the work your cells do every day, including building and repairing muscle. It keeps everything running.

(catabolism, and anabolism)

You can think of it like a car engine.
When the car is new, it runs smoothly with very little effort.
As we age, the engine needs better fuel and better care to keep performing well.

Fuel - real food
Regular movement - keeping parts lubricated
Strength train - to maintain power
Oxygen - for clean combustion

Your old habits may not support the engine the way they used to and now it’s time to fuel with optimal habits to keep your car/engine running top notch!

OXYGEN
Every part of energy production depends on oxygen. The body cannot use fat or carbohydrates for fuel without it.

BETTER BREATHING
Good breathing habits help muscles, organs, and the brain work at a higher level. When you breathe well, the body gets the oxygen it needs to create energy more efficiently.

POOR BREATHING
Chronic shallow breathing keeps the body in a mild stress state.

That stress raises cortisol, reduces fat use, and slows recovery. Over time, this makes the metabolism less efficient

Two women with the same diet and exercise habits could have very different metabolic efficiency purely based on their breathing quality and stress state.

Menopause doesn’t mean your engine is broken, it means YOU are now the mechanic.

Your HABITS are what keep the system tuned, powerful, and ready for the long road ahead.
